I guess it's been about 3 months since I last blogged? Okay, I know...I suck at this! BUT I was busy reading (both fiction and non-fiction works of literature) and writing essays. That's the life of an English major! Although, many times when I was reading or writing it momentaneously inspired me to think "I should really blog about this", but as usual... next week's seminars/assignments always got in the way. So this might be the first and last blog for another 3 more months?
Random thoughts which have recently come to mind...
Instant gratification is the momentary darkness between blinks, while happiness, on the other hand, is when the whole world decides to blink simutaneously.
Humanities majors are tainted...jaded...pretentious...emotionally hardened...callous...we are exposed to the works of Edward Said, Marshall McLuhan, Naomi Klein, Sally Ledger, Judith Butler, Wollstonecraft, Wilde, Swift, Faulkner, Coleridge, Keats and many others...
Again, I'm interupted by my wandering mind...Bright Eyes "Land Locked Blues" ...
And the world's got me dizzy again
you'd think after '23' years I'd be used to the spin
and it only feels worse when I stay in one place
so I'm always pacing around or walking away...
I feel more like a stranger each time I come home...
I just want to have a clean escape
I'm leaving but I don't know where to
I know I'm leaving but i don't know where to...

"...when the whole world decides to blink simultaneously." That's awesome.
"Humanities majors are tainted.." I know how you feel. For brief moments I have wished that I took up a trade instead of spending 5 years learning about minds and markets. But at the same time, the love of learning and the pursuit of knowledge is a rewarding venture for me. Maybe the bigger lesson here is that everything comes at a cost.
